our Houston chapter launched in October 2025 and opened requests for clothing packages in January 2026.
we are 100% volunteer-run with all items donated by generous neighbors and local businesses. 100% of our donations stay right here in Houston helping our local foster friends.
just like the constant growth of the friends we serve, some of our operating needs remain constant.
below are a list of needs we always appreciate:
monetary donations are always welcome & help us fill immediate/emergency requests!
VENMO is our preference @puddinpop-houston

hi! I'm taryn, the director of the Houston chapter for puddin' pop.
i am a wife, dog mom, and former foster mom. back in 2020/2021 we began our journey to get licensed with the foster care system. during the time we were introduced to austin and puddin' pop.
in 2021 we became the caregivers for 2 boys and saw firsthand how impactful puddin' pop's mission is. our boys arrived with the clothes on their backs, one extra outfit (which is rare), and a blanket. that extra outfit came to us in a plastic bag. overnight, we were scrambling to get car seats, a crib, clothes, child-accepted foods, toys—while navigating doctor visits, caseworker meetings, and court timelines. those first two weeks after placement are overwhelming.
puddin’ pop showed up with a care package for each of our boys, giving us breathing room when we desperately needed it. they also connected us with another foster family who passed along a crib and changing table. that support—and the reminder that we weren’t alone—meant everything.
with our relocation to Houston, I wanted to find a way to continue our involvement in the foster care system. helping austin expand puddin' pop was the perfect path! puddin’ pop has done incredible work in DFW, and if I can bring even a pinch of that love to houston, I know I’ve succeeded.
